Birmingham-Southern College teams up with downtown churches for musical event

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Birmingham-Southern College will join Cathedral of St. Paul, First Presbyterian Church and Birmingham First United Methodist Church in concert at the Vespers service at Cathedral of St. Paul in downtown Birmingham on April 26 at 6 p.m.

Dr. Jim Cook, professor of music at BSC, will conduct the choirs, soloists and members of the Alabama Symphony Orchestra in this performance of Mozart's Solemn Vespers, K.339. Dr. Jacqueline Leary-Warsaw, soprano and BSC associate professor of music, and Dr. David Smith, tenor and BSC professor of music, are among the featured performers. Choirs from all three churches will include a number of BSC students and alumni.
