News from the HilltopFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Yale choral professor Simon Carrington to present Master Class at Birmingham-Southern CollegeBIRMINGHAM, Ala.— Simon Carrington, professor of choral conducting at the Yale University School of Music and founding musical director of The King's Singers, will present a 2009 Hugh and Barbara Thomas Master Class at Birmingham-Southern April 16 in the BSC Hill Recital Hall at 7:30 p.m. Carrington will present a lecture demonstration titled “Playing With Words: Ideas on the Rehearsal and Preparation of a Choral Setting of a Poetic Text.” The class, open to the public for observation with free admission, is part of the Hugh and Barbara Thomas Master Class Series at BSC presented by Thomas and Jennifer Waters. |
