Birmingham-Southern theatre professors to perform locally in professional theatre
BIRMINGHAM, Ala.— Michael Flowers and Alan Litsey, both professors of theatre at Birmingham-Southern College, will each perform in Birmingham this summer in two different professional theatre productions.
Flowers, chair of the department of theatre and dance at BSC, will perform in Disney's “Beauty and the Beast” with the Red Mountain Theatre Company July 10-Aug. 3. He will play the role of Maurice, Belle's father, in a modern version of the classic tale at the company's summer mainstage at Virginia Samford Theatre.
Litsey will perform in the City Equity Theatre production of “The God of Hell” by Sam Shepard July 17-27 on the mainstage of The Alabama School of Fine Arts. He will play the role of Frank in the political farce directed by Marlene Johnson, a member of the theatre faculty at UAB.
