Mountain Brook native receives award at Birmingham-Southern

honors ceremony

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Birmingham-Southern College student Christopher Hugh Daniel of Mountain Brook is the recipient of the Robert Hewlin Jackson Achievement Award presented during the college's 2008 Honors Day Convocation.

The Robert Hewlin Jackson Achievement Award recognizes the graduating senior who has shown the greatest improvement in academic achievement during his or her four-year college career. The award memorializes Jackson, who graduated in 1862 from Southern University, the parent institution of Birmingham-Southern.

Daniel is an English major and the son of Charles and Lyndra Daniel. He graduated from Birmingham-Southern May 18.
