Birmingham-Southern College professor receives ODK teaching excellence award

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Dr. Bill Nicholas, professor of history at Birmingham-Southern, is the recipient of the Omicron Delta Kappa Excellence in Teaching Award presented during the college's 2008 Honors Day Convocation.

The award, sponsored by the BSC chapter of the national honorary, recognizes a faculty member who has attained a level of excellence in all aspects of teaching, including classroom performance and student advising.

Nicholas, who joined the BSC faculty in 1972, received his bachelor's and master's degrees from Trinity University and his doctoral degree from Tulane University.
