Anniston native receives Birmingham-Southern College humanities award

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Birmingham-Southern College sophomore James William Randolph of Anniston received the Bert Meadow McTyeire Scholarship during the college's 2008 Honors Day Convocation.

The award, sponsored by the college's Humanities department, memorializes the late BSC student and son of BSC trustee Katherine Meadow McTyeire of Birmingham, who died while he was a student at Birmingham-Southern. The scholarship provides assistance to history majors.

Randolph, a graduate of Jacksonville High School, is the son of Dr. Christopher and Mary Randolph.
