Works of Birmingham-Southern music professor will premier in New York City at the Carnegie Hall complex on April 25 and in Philadelphia on April 27
BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Birmingham-Southern College Professor of Music Charles Norman Mason has been selected as one of “five of today’s most innovative American musical thinkers” by the American Composers Orchestra. As such, he has been commissioned to write a piece for orchestra that “stretches the limits of what is possible with orchestra.”
The works will premier in New York City in the Zankel Hall at the Carnegie Hall complex on April 25 and in Philadelphia on April 27.
