Birmingham-Southern College student wins BACHE writers contest

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Birmingham-Southern College senior Claire Burgess was the first place winner in two out of three categories of the 10th anniversary of the Birmingham Area Consortium of Higher Education (BACHE) Visiting Writers Series. Winners were recognized at a dinner held recently on the Birmingham-Southern campus.

Burgess, an English major from Homewood, is the daughter of Dean and Donna Burgess.

BACHE is a local higher education consortium consisting of Birmingham-Southern, Miles College, Montevallo University, Samford University, and UAB.
