Karen Bentley Pollick to return to Czech Republic for spring performances

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Violinist Karen Bentley Pollick will once again perform in the Czech Republic alongside Louisiana State University professor of cello Dennis Parker. They will participate in the American Spring Festival in the Czech Republic April 12-18.

The duo will perform several concerts in Brno, Prague and Plzen in the Czech Republic. Their repertoire will include violin/cello duos by the three Czech composers Viktor Kalabis, Jan Vičar and Erwin Schulhoff. Vičar taught composition at BSC in 2006 as a visiting scholar. Both Pollick and Parker will play a solo work by Johann Sebastian Bach as well as from American composer Scott Eggert's duo “Dance Card,” which is a suite of virtuoso ragtime and tango dances.
