Birmingham-Southern to host regional voice competition

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Birmingham-Southern College will host the National Career Award Competition in Voice, which is an annual competition by the National Society of Arts and Letters (NSAL). Singers from across the Southeast will compete in this regional competition on the BSC campus on March 15 in the Hill Recital Hall beginning at 10:30 a.m.

The contest is open for advanced singers between the ages of 21 and 30 who will compete for cash awards, accolades, and a chance to the sing in the national final round. The winner will go on to compete in the National Finals at Indiana University in May.

The objective of NSAL, a non-profit volunteer organization founded in 1944 to create opportunities for young artists, is to encourage and assist promising young artists through competitions, scholarships and other career opportunities and to promote a greater public interest in the creative arts.
