BioTour Bus will stop at Birmingham-Southern March 12
BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—BioTour, a journey toward a sustainable future, will make a stop at the Birmingham-Southern College campus on March 12. The BioTour Bus, which runs on vegetable oil and not biodiesel, will be on display throughout the day in the BSC Bill Battle Coliseum/Library parking lot beginning at 10 a.m.
The tour stop, sponsored by Enact, the BSC campus environmental club; the BSC Student Government Association; and the Southern Environmental Center, will include a number of interactive presentations such as bus demonstrations, classroom demonstrations, a film presentation, and a drum circle/campfire discussion.
BioTour is a journey that aims to enliven the sustainable energy movement while exploring the depths of America – the people, the land, and the culture. It educates about the environmental, economic, social and political effects of fossil fuels while informing people about practical sustainable energy technology. The program addresses two of the most important issues in the nation and the world: global warming and peak oil.
