Birmingham-Southern to recognize senior art majors, exhibit works

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Birmingham-Southern College will exhibit pieces of original art created by six BSC seniors in its annual BFA Exhibition I and II art shows. The two-part exhibit will feature three student artists in an exhibit open March 7-20 and three additional students in an exhibit open April 4-18. Both exhibits will be on display at the college's Durbin Gallery, Kennedy Art Center/Azar Art Studios.

Each show will include an opening reception: Exhibit I on March 7 and Exhibit II on April 4, both from 6-8 p.m. in the gallery. The exhibits will be open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. Admission is open to the public and free.

BSC student artists participating in Exhibition I are Gloria Fite, an art-photography major from Pinson; Drake Roberts, an art-studio major from Sylacauga; and Charles Smith, an art-studio major from Vestavia.

BSC student artists participating in Exhibition II are Allison Chang, an art-painting major from Homewood; Tryg Hoff, an art-sculpture major from Mountain Brook; and Juliet Pruitt, an art-studio major from Tuscaloosa.
