Birmingham-Southern to recognize high school artists, exhibit works of art

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Birmingham-Southern College will open its biennial juried Southeastern Regional High School Art Exhibit Jan. 13. The exhibit will feature original art created by high school students from across the Southeast on display at the college's Durbin Gallery, Kennedy Art Center/Azar Art Studios.

Fifteen students will be recognized with monetary awards and a number of students will receive honorable mention at an awards presentation Jan. 13 at 2:30 p.m. in the Norton Campus Center Theatre. A reception will follow in the Durbin Gallery, Kennedy Art Center/Azar Art Studios from 3 to 4 p.m.

The competition pieces accepted from the submitted entries will be on exhibit through Jan. 31 in the Durbin Gallery. The exhibit will be open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
