Birmingham-Southern hires alumnus Daniel Seigel to teach in its Conservatory

Daniel SeigelBIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Vocalist Daniel Seigel, a 2002 Birmingham-Southern College graduate who completed graduate training at The Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University, will return to the BSC Conservatory to teach voice. Seigel, the son of Lester Seigel who is the Joseph Hugh Thomas Professor of Music at Birmingham-Southern, will begin accepting students at the BSC Conservatory in January. He will also teach at Canterbury United Methodist Church in Mountain Brook.

Seigel was the Guest Artist in Voice and Musical Theater this fall at LeMoyne College Performing Arts Center. His performance resume includes stage and musical direction in a number of operas including Birmingham-Southern College, Harbor Opera in Baltimore, Md., Opera North, N.H., New Jersey Opera Theater, Mobile Opera, and the Peabody Conservatory Opera Theater. His concert performances include the Alabama Symphony, Birmingham-Southern College, Canterbury United Methodist Church, LeMoyne College, and the Peabody Conservatory and Orchestra.
