Birmingham-Southern College to present 71st Annual Service of Lessons and Carols

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Birmingham-Southern College will present its 71st consecutive annual Service of Lessons and Carols on Friday, Nov. 30, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 2, at 4:30 p.m. The services will be at Canterbury United Methodist Church in Mountain Brook.

The Birmingham-Southern Concert Choir, Southern Chorale, and Alumni Choir will presents carols and anthems for the season. The long-standing concert will be preceded by preludes by several Birmingham-Southern organ students.

Lester Seigel, the Birmingham-Southern Joseph Hugh Thomas Professor of Music, will lead the BSC Concert and Alumni choirs. The Southern Chorale is under the direction of BSC Professor of Music David Smith. The choirs will be accompanied on the organ by BSC Professor of Music James Cook. BSC Chaplain John Richardson will lead the liturgy. Lessons of the season will be read by faculty, staff and students from across the campus community.
