Shelbyville, Tenn., native awarded inaugural accounting scholarship at Birmingham-Southern College

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Birmingham-Southern College junior John Amos Boutwell of Shelbyville, Tenn., has been awarded the Donaldson, Holman & West, P.C. Scholarship in Accounting for the 2007-08 academic year.

The inaugural award, established by the Birmingham certified public accounting firm of Donaldson, Holman & West, P.C., recognizes and encourages an outstanding student of accounting at the college. The scholarship provides assistance to a rising junior of high character with a declared accounting major.

Boutwell is the son of John and Connie Boutwell. He was selected for the award by BSC professors of accounting in consultation with the chair of the business administration and accounting department.
