Birmingham-Southern president appointed to serve on National Association of Schools and Colleges of the United Methodist Church board
BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Birmingham-Southern College President G. David Pollick has been appointed to the board for the National Association of Schools and Colleges of the United Methodist Church which is a group of presidents from colleges and universities affiliated with the United Methodist Church. His term will continue until July 2010.
According to the United Methodist Church General Board of Higher Education and Ministry, NASCUMC is a voluntary association of institutions committed to the historical and distinctive values of United Methodist-related education. It exists to advance the work of education and scholarship in its member institutions; to work cooperatively with conferences, boards and agencies of the United Methodist Church on issues of mutual concern; to work in partnership to education students for leadership and service in the global community; to foster and encourage the common good of its member institutions; and to strengthen the collegiality and camaraderie among leaders of member institutions.
Pollick will also serve as chair of the board's programming committee.
