Mobile resident receives achievement award at Birmingham-Southern College

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Birmingham-Southern senior Graham Ritchie of Mobile is the recipient of the Robert Hewlin Jackson Meritorious Scholarship Award presented during the college's 2007 Honors Day Convocation.

The Robert Hewlin Jackson Meritorious Scholarship Award, given in memory of the 1862 graduate of Southern University, recognizes the graduating senior who has achieved the highest grade-point average during his or her four-year college career.

An art-sculpture major, Ritchie is the son of Bobbie Springer. He will graduate from Birmingham-Southern May 26.
