Hoover native receives Birmingham-Southern College humanities award

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Birmingham-Southern College senior Erin Ashley Montgomery of Hoover received the Bert Meadow McTyeire Scholarship during the college’s 2007 Honors Day Convocation.

The award, sponsored by the college’s Humanities department, memorializes the late BSC student and son of BSC trustee Katherine Meadow McTyeire of Birmingham, who died while he was a student at Birmingham-Southern. The scholarship provides assistance to history majors.

Montgomery is a chemistry-professional history major. She is a graduate of Hoover High School and the daughter of Dana Wetzel and Robert Montgomery, both of Hoover.
