Two Birmingham-Southern students receive education scholarship

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Birmingham-Southern College students Laura Marie Baughman and Kathleen Leigh Coleman are the recipients of the annual Alabama Consortium Scholarship presented during the college's 2007 Honors Day Convocation.

The $3,300 scholarships are sponsored by The Alabama Consortium for students who are pursuing certification in special education. The students must be juniors and plan on working in Alabama's public schools for at least one year after completing certification or degree requirements.

Baughman is an elementary/collaborative education major from Prattville (Wilmer), Ala. She is the daughter of Ron and Gail Baughman.

Coleman is an elementary/collaborative education major from Columbus, Miss. She is the daughter of Geraldine Coleman.
