Birmingham-Southern Greek organizations stay up all night for charity

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—About 300 Birmingham-Southern College students stayed up all night recently to celebrate a successful fundraiser through the Up ‘til Dawn® program dedicated to the life-saving work of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. A local St. Jude family attended the second annual event held earlier this month on the college's campus.

The event is the culmination of six months of fundraising activities to benefit the children of St. Jude. BSC students raised more than $38,000 through the program by organizing a letter-writing campaign. Sigma Nu Fraternity won the top award for raising $4,830.

Casey Daniel, a BSC senior English major from Hoover and a member of Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority, served as executive director of the event.
