Birmingham-Southern president to take part in human rights Action Agenda

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Birmingham-Southern College President Dr. David Pollick will take part in the “Symposium on Universities, Democratic Culture, and Human Rights: An Action Agenda” March 29-30 at the University of Pennsylvania.

He will participate in the panel section of the meeting that is focused on “What should and could be done?” and titled “Making Use of the Declaration.” The discussion will focus on one of the challenges of the Declaration addressing how to use it as a leverage point on campuses and elsewhere to generate interest, activities, and new commitments to educating for democratic participation.

The symposium is a follow-up to the Council of Europe Forum held last June, in which Pollick also participated.
