Birmingham-Southern to recognize nine senior art majors, exhibit works

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Birmingham-Southern College will exhibit pieces of original art created by nine BSC seniors in its annual BFA Exhibition I and II art shows. The two-part exhibit will feature four student artists in an exhibit open March 9-30 and five additional students in an exhibit open April 4-20. Both exhibits will be on display at the college's Durbin Gallery, Kennedy Art Center/Azar Art Studios.

Each show will include an opening reception March 9 and April 4 from 6-8 p.m. in the gallery. The exhibits will be open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. Admission is open to the public and free.

BSC student artists participating in Exhibition I are Kelly Gilbreath, an art-studio major from Hoover; Jessica Pohly, an art-sculpture major from Huntsville; Graham Ritchie, an art-sculpture major from Huntsville; and Nikki Ryberg, an art-painting major from Madison.

BSC student artists participating in Exhibition II are Natalie Andrews, an art-painting major from Franklin, Tenn.; Jackie Bellissimo, an art-photography major from West Monroe, La.; Greer Dauphin, an art-art history/studio major from Hoover; Amanda Usrey, an art-painting major from Dora; and Ani Volkan, an art-studio/painting major from Estero, Fla.
