Birmingham-Southern College student awarded competitive state department scholarship

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Brandie Felice of Pell City, a sophomore Asian studies major at Birmingham-Southern College, has been awarded the National Security Education Program scholarship through the U.S. State Department. The scholarship is a competitive scholarship given to students pursuing the study of a non-traditional language and culture which culminates in an internship with the U.S. Government.

Felice will study abroad this spring at Kansai Gaidai University in Japan. She attended a workshop in Washington, D.C. last June with other National Security Education Program winners.

She is a native of Birmingham and a graduate of E.B. Erwin High School.
