BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Birmingham-Southern
College will present its 70th consecutive annual Service of Lessons
and Carols on Friday, Dec. 1, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 3
at 4:30 p.m. The services will be at Canterbury United Methodist
Church in Mountain Brook.
The Birmingham-Southern Concert Choir, Southern Chorale, and Alumni
Choir will presents carols and anthems for the season. The long-standing
concert will be preceded by a mini organ concert performed by several
Birmingham-Southern organ students.
Birmingham-Southern Joseph Hugh Thomas Professor of Music Lester
Seigel will lead the BSC Concert and Alumni choirs. The Southern
Chorale is under the direction of BSC Professor of Music David
Smith. The choirs will be accompanied on the organ by BSC Professor
of Music James Cook. BSC Dean of Chapel Stewart Jackson will lead
the liturgy.
