BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Birmingham-Southern College is included in the annual edition of Barron's “Best Buys in College Education” released recently. The college is one of 247 final colleges chosen to represent the best combination of data and student satisfaction.
Criteria for colleges selected to appear in the publication varies including tuition rates as well as results of questionnaires completed by students and the dean of students.
The two main features of “Best Buys in College Education” are the data capsules and profiles which provide information such as the campus setting, student-faculty ratio, freshman profile, faculty profile, tuition and fees, and room and board.
The 9th edition of the college guide is now available in bookstores and online.
Birmingham-Southern is a four-year, private liberal arts college founded in 1856 and affiliated with the United Methodist Church. The college celebrated its 150th anniversary during the 2005-06 academic year.
