Southern Diversity Delegate inducted at Birmingham-Southern CollegeVictoria Myers

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Birmingham-Southern student Victoria Myers of Vestavia was inducted as the college's 2006-07 Southern Diversity Delegate at a recent ceremony on campus. The ceremony included a presentation of a documentary created by Myers called “Diversity Through the Eyes of a Child: The Birmingham Project.”

Myers, a senior political science major, was selected by a panel of judges and student vote. She was selected to represent student opinions on issues of multiculturalism.

The Southern Diversity delegate serves as the primary student spokesperson for the Office of Multicultural Affairs and is given the opportunity to sponsor cultural programs, promote community building, and facilitate cross-cultural understanding within the Birmingham-Southern College community.

Myers is the daughter of Willie Jr. and Darlene Myers of Vestavia.
