Birmingham-Southern First Lady to perform in spring concert at the American Academy in Rome, featuring works by BSC faculty

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Birmingham-Southern College First Lady and violinist Karen Bentley Pollick will perform at an annual spring concert May 27 and May 31 in Rome, Italy, with world renowned pianist Ivan Sokolov and Craig Hultgren, BSC adjunct professor of music, on cello. The concert will take place at the American Academy.

The concert will feature selections by composer and BSC Assistant Professor of Music Dorothy Hindman and composer and BSC Professor of Music Charles Norman Mason. Hindman spent the 2005-06 academic year at the American Academy in Rome. Mason spent this year in Rome as winner of the prestigious Samuel Barber Rome Prize in Musical Composition.
