Birmingham-Southern music professor's compositions included in recording

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—The compositions of Dr. Dorothy Hindman, assistant professor of music at Birmingham-Southern College, are included in the latest CD release of the “Masterworks of the New Era” series.

The Nov. 28 release is volume seven of the critically acclaimed series which features new works by living composers. Distributed to more than 500 radio stations across North America and Europe and accessible to major music retailers in the U.S. and Canada, the “Masterworks of the New Era” series is among the leading vehicles for getting contemporary classical music before the public.

Hindman joined the BSC faculty in 1994. She received her bachelor's and doctoral degrees from the University of Miami and her master's degree from Duke University.
