Birmingham-Southern College in concert for 69th Annual Service of Lessons and Carols

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Birmingham-Southern College will present its 69th Annual Service of Lessons and Carols on Friday, Dec. 2 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 4 at 4:30 p.m. The services will be at Canterbury United Methodist Church in Mountain Brook.

The Birmingham-Southern Concert Choir, Southern Chorale, and Alumni Choir will presents carols and anthems from many cultures, as well as anthems for the season from the Renaissance to contemporary composers.

Birmingham-Southern Associate Professor of Music Lester Seigel will lead the BSC Concert and Alumni Choirs. The Southern Chorale is under the direction of BSC Professor of Music David Smith. The choirs will be accompanied on the organ by BSC Professor of Music James Cook. BSC Dean of Chapel Stewart Jackson will lead the liturgy.

Choir rehearsals will soon begin at Canterbury United Methodist Church. The Concert Choir will rehearse on Tuesday, Nov. 29 from 4:30 to 5:45 p.m., and the Alumni Choir will rehearse on Nov. 29 from 7 to 9 p.m. The Southern Chorale will rehearse on Wednesday, Nov. 30 from 4:15 to 5:30 p.m.
