BIRMINGHAM, Ala.— Birmingham-Southern College alumna and longtime communications professional Lisa Harrison has been named director of alumni affairs at the college.
Harrison comes to the alumni position after serving Birmingham-Southern most recently as director of external relations. Prior to that, she also served the college as associate director for communications and assistant director of alumni affairs.
Before joining the college, she served in public relations and marketing roles at South Highlands Hospital, Civitan International, and Southern Progress Corporation.
“It is exciting to have ‘one of our own' in this critical leadership role at BSC, and all of us in Institutional Advancement are delighted that our national search ultimately led us to Lisa,” said Vice President of Institutional Advancement Adelia Thompson.
A native of Columbiana, Harrison is a cum laude graduate of the University of Alabama, where she received a bachelor's degree in communication in 1981. She later received a master of arts in public and private management from Birmingham-Southern in 1985.
