BIRMINGHAM , Ala.—Five women will compete for the title of Miss Birmingham-Southern College 2006 on Saturday, Oct. 29. The pageant will take place in the BSC College Theatre/Mainstage at 7 p.m. Contestants will compete in talent, casual wear, swim suit, evening wear, and an on-stage interview.
The Miss BSC pageant awards up to $3,500 in scholarships to the winner, who will compete in the state competition in June for the crown of Miss Alabama.
The theme for this year's competition is “Miss BSC House of Blues.” Entertainment for the evening will include Miss Alabama 2005 Alexa Jones, Miss BSC 2005 Kathryn Stewart Stokes, and dance numbers performed by the official Miss BSC dancers.
Since 1938, 22 Miss BSC pageant winners have been crowned Miss Alabama, including Jones who was Miss BSC 2003. As part of the college's Sesquicentennial celebration, 32 former Miss BSC winners have been invited back to be recognized at this year's pageant.
General admission tickets to the event are $5 and are available the night of the pageant at the BSC Box Office in the College Theatre.
