BIRMINGHAM , Ala.—The tale of two-high school seniors whose love affair takes a horrific turn as they cope with the disappearance of their classmates will have its Southeastern premiere Oct. 13-16 at Birmingham-Southern when the college’s 2005-06 theatre season gets under way.
Young Zombies in Love, described as “wild and wacky,” is a rock musical by Damian Hess and Gaby Alter. With its eclectic score and irreverent script, the show is full of craziness, hilarity, and deviousness. It was performed last year at the New York International Fringe Festival, among many other venues.
The performance will run Oct. 13 & 15 at 7:30 p.m., Oct. 14 at 7:30 p.m. and 11 p.m., and Oct. 16 at 2:30 p.m. at the BSC College Theatre/Mainstage. The show’s writer Damien Hess will attend the Oct. 13 performance, and both Hess and musical composer Gaby Alter will attend the 11 p.m. show Oct. 14. Proceeds from the Oct. 14 show will benefit the victims of Hurricane Katrina. |
