BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Dr. Ron Stunda, associate professor of accounting at Birmingham-Southern College, recently received the Distinguished Paper Award in Accounting and Finance at the annual conference of the Allied Academies, held this year in Memphis. His winning manuscript was titled “The Effects of Legal Environment on Voluntary Earnings Forecasts in the U.S. Versus Canada.” The conference was attended by more than 300 participants from more than 150 schools in the U.S. and abroad.
Stunda received his bachelor's degree from Pennsylvania State University, his master's from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and his Ph.D. from Florida State University. He joined the Birmingham-Southern faculty in 1995.
