Birmingham-Southern College elects 2005 Homecoming Queen and court

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Susan Petty of Mountain Brook was crowned the 2005 Birmingham-Southern College Homecoming Queen during halftime ceremonies of the men's Homecoming basketball game against Virginia Military Institute Feb. 19.

The senior religion major is the daughter of William and Carol Petty. She was selected in a campus-wide vote of the student body.

The crowning was the culmination of a weeklong set of Homecoming events which included a spirit competition, bonfire, and fraternity and sorority house decorating.

Named senior attendants during the Homecoming festivities were Jensi McCann, a history major from Leighton and the daughter of Ricky and Jenny McCann, and Anna Sullivan of Hoover, a business administration major and the daughter of William III and Rosalind Sullivan.

Junior attendants were Mary Catherine Stewart, a biology major from Arab, and the daughter of Randy and Cathy Stewart, and Ashton Thompson, a political science major from North Shelby and the daughter of William and Adrienne Thompson.

Sophomore attendants were Leslie Inmon, a pre-medicine major from Jacksonville and the daughter of Pamella Inmon, and Caroline Shaw, a psychology major from Dothan and the daughter of Steve and Julie Shaw.

Freshman attendants were Emmy Corey, an English major from Chattanooga, Tenn., and the daughter of John and Jean Corey, and Molly Savage, a history major from Mountain Brook and the daughter of Charles and Gloria Savage.
