Birmingham-Southern professor named to Who's Who Among America's Teachers

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Dr. E. Byron Chew, Bernard A. Monaghan Professor of Management at Birmingham-Southern College, has been included in the newest issue of Who's Who Among America's Teachers in recognition for his excellence in teaching.

The 8th edition of the biographical directory (2004) lists approximately 134,000 of the nation's best and most well-respected teachers. The teachers are nominated by former students who are among the top five percent of high school and college students listed in other Who's Who publications. The students were asked to nominate the one teacher from their entire academic career who made a difference in their lives by helping to shape their values, inspiring interest in a particular subject, and challenging them to strive for excellence.

Chew, who joined the BSC faculty in 1974, received his bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh and his Ph.D. in business administration from the University of Alabama.
