BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Birmingham-Southern
College Assistant Professor of English Peter Donahue has co-edited
an anthology of
Seattle prose Reading Seattle: The City in Prose to be released
this month by the University of Washington Press.
Reading Seattle ranges from classics to more recent works including
works by a Pulitzer Prize winner, a National Book Award winner,
and a MacArthur Fellow,
as well as works by important lesser-known writers.
In conjunction with the book's release, Donahue will moderate a forum
May 6 titled “Seattle Writers on Seattle: A Literary Forum” at
Seattle University. The forum will be taped for later airing by The Seattle
Channel. Donahue also appeared on Seattle's KUOW-FM art program “The
Beat” and will be doing a six-stop bookstore tour in early June, including
an appearance at the Northwest Folklife Festival's literary program.
Joining the BSC faculty in 1999, he received his doctoral degree
at Oklahoma State University. He also is author of The Cornelius
Arms. |
