BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Two Birmingham-Southern
College professors and a BSC student recently received a distinguished
paper award
at the Allied Academies annual meeting in New Orleans.
Dr. George Klersey, EBSCO
Professor of Accounting, and Dr. Ron Stunda, assistant professor
of accounting,
along with Rachel Vinson
of Vestavia Hills, a senior
accounting major, received a distinguished paper award for their paper entitled “The
Effects of Derivative Usage on Security Returns.”
Of the 320 papers submitted overall, approximately 10 percent
receive distinguished paper awards. The Allied Academies consists
of seven business disciplines.
The paper submitted by the BSC representatives was for the accounting category.
Klersey received his Ph.D. from the University of Southern California.
Stunda received his Ph.D. from Florida State University. Both joined
the BSC faculty
in 1995. |
