BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Dr. John
D. Tatter, professor of English and chair of the Division
of Humanities at Birmingham-Southern College, has been
presented with an Exemplary Teaching Award by the Board
of Higher Education and Campus Ministry of the United Methodist
Church.
The award is presented annually to a BSC
professor who is “characterized by excellence in teaching;
civility and concern for students and colleagues; commitment
to value-centered education; and service to students, the
institution, the community, or the church.”
Joining the Birmingham-Southern College faculty
in 1985, Tatter received his bachelor's degree from Houghton
College and his master's and doctorate degrees from Ohio
University. |
