BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Dr. Ron Stunda,
associate professor of accounting at Birmingham-Southern College,
recently received for
the third straight year the Outstanding Research Award at the Academy
of Accounting and Finance Conference, held this year in Las Vegas.
He is the first person to receive the award for three successive
years.
His winning manuscript was titled “The
Effect of Transitory Items on the Relevance of Earnings and Cash
Flows for REITs.”
The conference was attended by 167 participants from 80 institutions
and 10 countries.
Stunda received his bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania State University,
his master’s from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and his
Ph.D. from Florida State University. He joined the Birmingham-Southern faculty
in
1995.
