BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Dr. Paul Cleveland,
associate professor of economics at Birmingham-Southern College,
has published a book
entitled Understanding the Modern Culture Wars: The Essentials
of Western Civilization.
The book, published by Boundary Stone Publishers, is a broad
survey of Western civilization and is to be used primarily as a
high school textbook. Written
from a Christian perspective, it is targeted to Christian schools and home
schools in particular. It also can be used as a supplemental text at the
college level and may be valuable for adult readers who want to
expand their knowledge
of the subject.
Cleveland, who joined the Birmingham-Southern
faculty in 1990, received his bachelor's and master's degrees from Auburn University and his
doctoral degree from Texas A&M University.
