BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Natalie K. Meyer, an attorney with the
National Association
of Securities Dealers in Washington, D.C., is the keynote speaker
for
Birmingham-Southern's Honors Day April 22.
A 1992 BSC summa cum laude English and political science graduate,
Meyer will
deliver the annual Honors Convocation address at 10:30 a.m. in
Munger Hall
Auditorium.
Meyer, who also has been an associate with Brobeck, Phleger,
and Harrison LLP
in its Manhattan and Washington, D.C., offices, specializes in
technology
licensing, outsourcing, and intellectual property assets. She also
completed
an internship with the Federal Trade Commission and was a summer
associate
with Arter and Hadden, both in Washington, D.C.
A member of Phi Beta Kappa while at BSC,
Meyer spent a year following graduation teaching English as a
second language to middle school
students in
Nara Prefecture, Japan, as part of the Japan Exchange and Teaching
Program and
then spent a year studying at the University of Göttingen
in Germany as a
Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar.
She received her master's and law
degrees from the University of Virginia.
Honors Day is a celebration of the year's
academic accomplishments at
Birmingham-Southern. In addition to the convocation which will
include a
processional of graduating seniors and faculty in cap and gown,
the day will
feature academic awards presented to outstanding students in each
of the six academic divisions, a luncheon, and a demonstration
of scholarship and
creative works by students and faculty.
