BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Birmingham-Southern
College has received a $16,500 grant from the Global Partners
Project to host a two-day
symposium in June 2004 focusing on best practices in pre-departure
and re-orientation programs for students who study abroad.
Participants will include representatives from the 42 colleges

2004 on best practices in pre-departure and re-orientation programs
for students who study abroad.
Attendees will include representatives from the 42 colleges and universities
in the Global Partners Consortium. The consortium is made up of institutions
from the Associated Colleges of the South, the Associated Colleges of the
Midwest, and the Great Lakes Colleges Association.
The symposium will feature presentations
and roundtable discussions and a final paper will be published
with the results of the meeting.
