Birmingham-Southern College elects 2003 Homecoming Queen and courts

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Anna Donaldson of Jasper was crowned the 2003 Birmingham-Southern College Homecoming Queen during halftime ceremonies of the men's Homecoming basketball game against Elon University Feb. 15.

The senior English major and Walker High School graduate is the daughter of Jeff and Brenda Donaldson. She was selected in a campus-wide vote of the student body.

The crowning was the culmination of a weeklong set of events themed “One Great Big Panther Party.”

Named senior attendants during the Homecoming festivities were Evelyn Coleman, a religion major from Columbus, Miss., and the daughter of Geraldine Coleman, and Toni Newborn, a political science major from Ensley and the daughter of Debra Newborn.

Junior attendants were Stephanie Houston, a political science major from Woodland and the daughter of Alisea Houston; Charlotte Kelly, a business administration major from Huntsville and the daughter of Anderson and Cathy Kelly; and Kassie Mathis, a business administration major from Gadsden and the daughter of Valeanor Mathis and Fred Hawkins.

The sophomore attendant was Emily Mathis, a psychology major from Vestavia Hills and the daughter of William and Mary Mathis.

The freshman attendant was Jessica Neil, a math major from Vestavia Hills and the daughter of William and Celeste Neil.
