BIRMINGHAM, Ala.-Fourteen women will compete for
the title of Miss Birmingham-Southern College 2002 on Saturday,
Dec. 1.
The Miss BSC Scholarship Pageant will begin at
7 p.m. in the College Theatre's Mainstage. Contestants will compete
in talent and evening gown portions of the pageant following swimsuit
and interview competitions held earlier in the day. The winner will
represent Birmingham-Southern in the Miss Alabama pageant in June
2002.
Miss BSC 2001 Jennifer Bashaw, a senior psychology major from Empire,
will crown this year's winner.
Miss Alabama 1990 Resha Riggins Miles will emcee
the pageant.
Twenty-one Miss BSC Pageant winners also have been crowned Miss
Alabama since 1938.
Pageant tickets are $3 for the general public
and $2 for students. Tickets may be purchased in advance by calling
Birmingham-Southern's Office of Student Affairs at 226-4729, or
they may be purchased the night of the pageant at the BSC Theatre
