Orientation 2012

Welcome, new students!

The time for you to make the Hilltop your college home is quickly approaching, and all of us look forward to getting to know you during your first days on campus and spending the next few years together. We hope you are as excited for your years at BSC as we are!

As you enjoy your summer trips and spending time with friends and family, you might be wondering what is next for you in gearing up to start your first semester at Birmingham-Southern. You will first attend one of our three summer orientation sessions to get you acclimated with campus, advised for your first term classes, and complete other administrative processes to make move in day run smoothly.

In August, you will arrive on campus for Move-In day and New Student Orientation on August 25th. During the four days of New Student Orientation, you will get to know your classmates and student leaders in your small Orientation group through lots of fun, interactive activities and numerous social events. You will meet as a group and individually with your faculty advisor as you discuss academic life and learning at BSC. You will also participate in several sessions and activities geared to help you learn what to expect during your college experience and enjoy some fun new BSC traditions.

There is a lot to take in, but we have ensured that your transition to college is as smooth and fun as possible. In the words of our President, General Krulak, we commit ourselves to you as you grow and develop into your full potential as a BSC student and men and women of character.
