Mechanical Room Use
NO ITEMS are allowed to be stored in any
mechanical room in the Greek Houses, unless spe-
cial permission is given by the BSC fire Marshall.
Mechanical rooms should stay locked.
Egress/Ingress
All hallways and stairwells must remain free of all
items, including but not limited to furniture, bicy-
cles, and debris.
Party Decorations/Items
Party decorations/items must be removed within
48
hours of the event (outside must be cleaned with-
in 24 hours). Should items remain longer than 48
hours after an event, a 1st offense fine will occur. All
party decorations/items must be approved as stated
on the Social Function request form.
Recruitment Decorations/Items
All decorations and items used for recruitment
must be stored in the basement for no longer than 7
days after the last day of recruitment.
Basements
Basements must be cleaned by 8 a.m. on the day
following an approved social event. This includes
removal of all trash inside and outside, floor clean-
ing, and bathroom cleaning.
Furniture
Furniture designed for indoor purposes cannot
be left outside. College supplied bedroom furniture
must remain in a bedroom or in an approved storage
area. Furniture cannot be stored or left in any hall-
way or stairwell. The Chapter will be responsible for
the replacement fee for any College furniture that is
damaged. The replacement fee will be determined by
the Director of Residence Life.
Trash Fine
All lawns and porches must be free of debris.
Sand
Sand and/or sandbags are not allowed in any part
of the fraternity/sorority houses. The only exception
to this is on sorority row when placed by the opera-
tions department.
Glass Bottles
Glass bottles are not allowed inside or outside of
any of the fraternity houses.
Vandalism
Vandalism of any area of the house, including the
lawn and sprinkler heads, will not be tolerated. In
any instance of vandalism, Campus Police must be
contacted so that a report may be written. The
Assistant Director of Student Life in conjunction
with the Director of Residence Life reserves the
right to charge the Chapter for any repairs that are a
result of vandalism. In those cases where a culprit
can be identified, that person will be held responsi-
ble for the costs of the repair.
House Cleaning
All house managers are required to schedule a
monthly house cleaning. The Assistant Director of
Student Life and the Director of Residence Life con-
duct routine walk throughs of the houses to ensure
that following standards of cleanliness are being met:
1.
Garbage is disposed of daily.
2.
All open food is properly stored.
3.
Dishes and cooking appliances should be
washed daily.
4.
Refrigerators should be cleaned monthly to
prevent bacteria growth.
5.
Basement bathrooms should be disinfected
at least once a month.
6.
Basement floors should be cleaned after
each event.
Smoking
Smoking is not allowed anywhere in the house,
including the basement area. The House Manager is
responsible for communicating and enforcing the
smoking policy.
Grills
Grills must be located at least 10 feet away from
any combustible items, other than necessary
propane tanks during usage. Any propane tanks
used must be chained to an immovable structure at
all times when being stored.
