Changing or replacing appliances, shower
or sink heads, or any other college owned
property is prohibited.
Outdoor sheds or storage units are not
allowed.
Residents are not permitted to paint the
apartment for any reason.
Defacing College or personal property
including but not limited to installing ceil-
ing fans, rewiring lights, adding locks to
doors, splicing into existing television
cables or splitting or splicing into data
cables or outlets, wrapping TV cable, or
otherwise adding to existing cable. Setting
up unauthorized wireless access points is
prohibited.
Air Conditioning/ Heat Units and
Thermostats
A/C and Heating units are property of the
College. If there is a problem with your
A/C or Heat please call maintenance
(
x3081).
The thermostats should not be removed or
replaced.
The thermostats should not be set lower
than 68 degrees.
Air conditioner air filters are replaced every
three months.
Abandoning items
Public areas are not intended for storage of
personal belongings.
Items left in public areas will be considered
abandoned property and removed or dis-
posed of by the staff. This includes athletic
shoes and bikes.
Pets
Pets are not allowed in any residence on
campus.
Only small fish in no more than a 20 gallon
tank are permitted.
The feeding of any animal on campus is
also prohibited. Caring for these animals
results in cruel abandonment when stu-
dents leave for breaks.
Grills
Outdoor Grills are not permitted. Grills are
provided for your convenience at several
locations around the complex.
Porches/patios and windows
Residents must keep their porch/patio clean
for health, safety and aesthetic purposes.
Porches/patios should be swept regularly
and cannot be used as a storage area. Per-
sonal items such as clothes or camping gear
are prohibited. Please store items in the
storage closet provide on the patio/porch.
All sound systems and stereos must be kept
inside and speakers must be kept out of
window areas and balconies/porches.
Patio furniture is permitted. Upholstered
furniture is not (e.g. couches and recliners).
Furniture supported or hanging from rails
or any part of the building is strictly prohib-
ited.
Bicycles chained or parked on stairwells,
walkways, or handicapped entrances are
prohibited. Bicycles should be stored in the
appropriate bicycle racks provided through-
out the complex.
Dropping, throwing, or tossing items out of
windows or porches is strictly prohibited
and will result in fines and possible removal
from the apartments.
Satellite dishes, antennas, or similar devices
may not be affixed to any apartment struc-
ture including balconies.
Items of any kind may not be hung off the
balcony or the railing. This includes ban-
ners, hammocks and towels.
Pictures, posters, and signs that refer to
alcohol or drugs and are displayed for pub-
lic view are prohibited.
Decoration Policy
Temporary decorations for holidays are per-
mitted on the balcony areas, provided they
do not pose any threat to fire safety.
Do not hang items on walls that would
damage the paint on the walls. Residents
will be charged for damage to walls upon
checkout. Use small nails for pictures.
Natural decorations such as cornstalks, hay,
straw, and sand shall not be used inside or
outside apartments. This includes the
porch/patio.
Small plants are permitted only if placed
away from sources of heat (heater vent,
electronic devices, or kitchen appliances).
Only miniature energy efficient lights (tra-
ditional Christmas lights) shall be used in
decorations
All electronic decorations and lights should
be turned off and unplugged if leaving
overnight.
Power cords cannot run between the door
and door frame. Do not run cords under
rugs or carpeting.
No decorations may be placed so as to
obstruct the exiting path for the apartment
or for other apartments.
