How are roommates assigned?
You may indicate a preferred roommate if you know someone you would like to live with who you have a previous relationship with or who you match with on RoomSync. If you do not have a preferred roommate, you will be matched with a roommate based on the lifestyle preferences chosen on the online housing sign-up form. Male and female athletes on the following athletics teams are typically matched with a roommate by their coach: Basketball, Track and Field, Cross Country, Football, Baseball, Lacrosse, Soccer.
What is RoomSync?
RoomSync is an optional Facebook program that you may utilize to search for a roommate. If you find a roommate through RoomSync, you will have an opportunity to tell us who this person is when you complete the online housing sign-up form. The deadline to notify the Office of Residence Life about a preferred roommate is June 1. If you are an upperclass transfer student, you may indicate up to 3 preferred roommates, and the Office of Residence Life will do its best to match you with them.
What if I have filled out my online housing sign-up form, but have since met someone I would like to live with?
Simply contact the Office of Residence Life by June 1 to tell us who you would like to live with and we will match you with that person.
I am an athlete. Will my coach match me with a roommate?
If you participate in one of the following athletics teams, your coach will match you with a roommate that is on your team: Basketball, Track and Field, Cross Country, Football, Baseball, Lacrosse, Soccer. Please note that you will still need to fill out the online housing sign-up form.
What does visitation option mean?
For incoming first-year students, there are two visitation options that you may chose from when you complete your online housing sign-up form. Option 10-1-2 means that you can have visitors of the opposite sex in your room between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 a.m. Sunday through Thursday, and between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 a.m. Friday and Saturday. Option 24 means that you may have visitors of the opposite sex in your room at any time, as long as you and your roommate are in agreement. While you may have visitors of the opposite sex at any time under Option 24, individuals of the opposite sex may not sleep in your room or cohabitate.
All upperclass residence halls are Option 24.
When will I receive my room assignment and contact information for my roommate?
A letter with your residence hall and room number assignment, in addition to the e-mail address and phone number for your assigned roommate, will be mailed to your home by late June.
Are private rooms available?
Incoming freshmen may request a private room. Private room assignments are not guaranteed and are based on availability. There is an additional fee for a private room. A private room is defined as a room that is designed for two people, but only houses one person.

What size are the mattresses?
In Cullen Daniel, Margaret Daniel, and Hanson, the mattresses are extra long twin. In New Men's, Hilltop Village Apartments, and Bruno, the mattresses are standard twin.
When can I see the residence halls?
The freshman residence halls are shown during all tours of campus. In addition, there will be an opportunity to visit the residence halls during Summer Orientation in June. If you are a transfer student, and would like to see a specific residence hall, please call the Office of Residence Life to schedule an appointment.
What if I need to cancel my housing after I sign up?
Written notification of cancellation on or after July 31st is subject to a $500 cancellation fee. If a student withdraws from the College within the first two weeks of a term, the housing fees are adjusted in full minus the cancellation fee. If a student withdraws from the College between the beginning of the 3rd week and end of the 4th week of the semester, residence hall fees are prorated.

What are the meal plan options?
There are two meal plan options for residential students. By default, all residential students who do not live in the apartments are placed on the 5 Day All Access Meal Plan. You may change your meal plan to the 7 Day All Access Plan during the first two weeks of school by visiting www.bsc.edu/administration/finance/card.cfm and clicking on the online forms link.

The 5 Day All Access Meal Plan provides unlimited meals Mondaythrough Friday and $400 in Panther Bucks that can be used in the POD and POD Express Convenient Stores and Subway CafÃ©.
7 Day All Access
The 7 Day All Access Meal Plan provides unlimited meals 7 days a week and $50 in Panther Bucks that can be used in the POD and POD Express Convenient Stores and Subway CafÃ©.
How will I do laundry? Is there a fee?
Unlimited use of the laundry facilities within each of our residence halls is included as part of the housing fee. There is no need for quarters!
