Room assignments are determined each academic year through our housing lottery using a computer-based system that takes a student's class standing and cumulative BSC GPA into account to determine priority. Priority is given to seniors, juniors, and finally sophomores. A preference questionnaire provides guidance on roommate matching and placement.
All rooming assignments and roommate matching are made without regard to race, religion, nationality, sexual orientation, or disability.
Changing Room Assignments
Residents desiring a change in their room assignment should first contact their Resident Advisor and then the Office of Residence Life. Room changes will be made based on space availability and occupancy needs.
Students may cancel their room assignment prior to enrolling in the fall semester without penalty. However, after a student has enrolled for the semester and paid for the term, housing costs are non-refundable.
